Fashion is a mode of autonomy and self-expression in a certain cultural milieu and at a certain time and context, of dressing, footwear, fashion, accessories, cosmetics, hairstyle, and other body posture. The word “fashion” actually means a style defined by the fashion business as what is trendy at that time. Just as music and literature are judged as acceptable and unacceptable by one society or culture, so too the type of fashion that one chooses to wear is influenced and dictated by cultural expectations.

A designer is an artistic craftsman who creates new designs for his client’s clothing needs and tastes. As a matter of fact, fashion trends are a mixture of designer taste, personal knowledge and current events influencing it. The designer also has the task of taking these trends into consideration when formulating his or her own version of it. Some fashion designers attend fashion weeks to observe and report on the trends in clothing and other accessories that are being worn around the world.
